HO, HO, HO... the jolly atmosphere of a family around the table: WHAT CAN BE BETTER!. The good plates, the crystal glasses and linen tablecloth and napkins. There are so many ways to decorate the Christmas table and raise the Holiday feeling, but none will speak of happiness and family better than the ones you have made yourself. So, if you feel like giving it a go, step into any Spotlight shop and look around: the possibilities are endless. This year, for my table, I chose two vibrant colours and an Australian Summer theme. It is as simple as it gets, and if you like the idea, see below how I made it.
Here are the step-by-step images to follow. Choose a theme and colours that match your home décor and make your centrepiece personal, by adding and expanding where you think you should. I still recommend using a battery candle to avoid the risk of decorations catching fire from a real flame, which also makes it safe to create with the kids. Also, I chose very realistic looking plastic flowers because these will last all the festive season, in fact all year round, but you can easily include real flowers as a wonderful touch, which can add scent and perfume the room and table as well. How about native ones from your garden?
The list of materials I found at Spotlight:
Coastal Metal Lantern
Led Plastic Candle
AA alcaline batteries
Bouclair Woodland Snug Bowl Filler Pinecone Silver
Daisy Spray, Yellow
Well, that was the easiest table decoration ever, don't you agree? I think two of these are great to spread along the table and create soft light to eat with. They are also perfect for outdoor entertaining, and my yellow and pink theme this year could work just as well for any summer evening durning the holiday break. Give it a go, or ask the friendly Spotlight staff to help you with your own ideas. They know all the tricks and materials available on the market and your wishes will easily become real.
Involve the kids, family and friends and make your Christmas table original and fun.
Happy Festive Season.
