Quality Outdoor Furniture

April 11, 2017

The good weather is now coming to an end, and while we start to fold and store our garden furniture in the garage we notice that the strong sun, the night humidity and the summer storms may have badly affected it. Rotting wood, rusting metal... dilemma: to keep or throw away?

We knew when we bought it from that discount shop that this table wouldn't last more than a season or two, and the plastic chairs only cost a few bucks. "How can they be so cheap?" we may have wandered, but still bought them, and back home one broke as soon as the big kid stood on it. Does this sound familiar? If so, we have yet a lesson to learn.

Quality cannot be found at extra discounted prices, because the time and attention that takes to produce refined items comes at a cost, and so do lasting materials. That fold-up table and chairs my father used to pack in the car for the family outings comes to mind... I still have the whole set stored in the garage, and every time there is the need for it, out it comes to the front yard, strong as ever.

Because good quality lasts, and the larger initial spending will allow you to in fact save money in the long run. Also good quality retains value and if your wish is to change the furniture quite often, you can sell back good furniture and buy something new. Quality furniture also comes with good design, and I got very excited a few days ago at Mamagreen while taking pictures and discussing their commitment to quality and stylish outdoor furniture.

The environment we live in is our responsibility and purchasing poor quality items is an irresponsible habit. Instead of wasting money in cheap stuff, we should all purchase better items and surround ourselves with the quality we deserve, while being proud of our responsible choices.
