Don’t Matter If It’s Black Or White

When considering internal wall colours, it’s normal to select light, neutral tones. They help make spaces feel bigger and always assist with issues like natural light and low ceilings. Also they give you a fantastic back drop for all of your furniture and accessories, letting them become the focal points against the easy to live with back drop!

BUT, when you do have lots of light or large windows, OR when you are game enough to ‘turn up the volume’, dark walls can work with striking effect! Dark colours work equally well to create contrast with lighter accessories, working amazingly well with metallics and reflective surfaces, and create that designer, high end, LUX look!

This city apartment, with its glamorous matt dark floor tiles and square lines, looks a treat with charcoal grey walls! My client selected an eclectic mix of personal objects and a well positioned mirror, to further bounce the light! Team this up with the subtle crisp white trims, and the space is dynamic and dramatic.

The real secret here is the floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows, which flood the space with natural light during the day, and city lights by night, supporting the balance to this stunning black and white scheme.
