Selecting Unique Palettes

Do you think there are colours that define your taste better than others, or do you wish to create a colour scheme that’s truly unique to your home or to the story you’re trying to tell with your interiors? Creating colour palettes is something I truly enjoy, it's such an exciting adventure. There are so many options available that creating the new colour palette is not too difficult for those with good taste.

However, the challenge is to offer a product that is 'unique' to the taste of every client.

If you're in the process of selecting the paint colours for your home or clients' project and need some directions, in brief, here's what I do it with my clients...

1. Understand my clients’ taste and favourite colours

2. Decide if using their colours for the main walls or as a feature

3. Pinpoint the intensity that will suit their furnishing and décor.

How do I do this? Watch the full video below.

Now, Taubmans have also many tools to help, such as the fan deck, which we professionals of course use every day. There are also many brochures with colours all listed for you, and there's also pre-made colour palettes that can help you greatly with your interior and exterior choices.

But one exciting new tool that you can take advantage of is the Coloursmith® Reader. This is perfect to help you find the perfect colour match for something existing in your home, like an artwork or the upholstery on your sofa, maybe the cabinetry colour or those curtains that you've fallen in love with. All you have to do is place the Reader on the colour you want to match, open the app and capture the colour from the Reader device. It will go straight to the app in the phone and you can name it for future reference.

All you have to do is download the app on your phone and let the Coloursmith® Reader exactly match the colour you like. You can even name it, for future reference. Next, you can show the code in any Bunnings store or paint supplier to get a sample pot or order your unique paint online... straight from your phone.

As you can see choosing colours that are unique to your taste and your home isn't that difficult anymore. Start designing your own bespoke colour schemes and achieve interiors that are truly your own.
