Contrast In The Kitchen

The biggest mistake that people make when selecting the finishes for their new kitchens, is to refrain from colour or contrast! Some people get scared that colours will date, or scared that going for colour could be too bold a choice. They end up selecting white or beige floors, with Beige walls and BEIGE kitchen doors and tops!!

Take another look at that display kitchen you love so much or that glossy magazine you keep going back to, and you will surely notice one thing: CONTRAST!!

A tip: you don’t have to go crazy. In fact, I am myself quite conservative with kitchen’s colours choices and prefer to add strong accessories for impact. Try choosing medium or dark doors with light tops, or vice versa. It’ll work wonders. Then add the colourful accessories you prefer and you’ll achieve a stunning effect.

This kitchen above has dark doors, a crisp white stone benchtop and a striking metallic tiled splashback in a horizontal format. It’s modern, sleek and a stylish statement in the home. My clients love this kitchen, it looks great for entertaining and it looks fantastic on Monday mornings too!

Remember, when choosing you kitchen, don’t be afraid of using contrasting colours. You will be cooking up a storm before you know it!!
