Last Minute Decoration

I am always looking around for interesting and creative ideas, and searching the web I just bumped into a post I have published at a similar time, last year. A smart collection of easy and quick to make decorations. If you are still behind with yours you may find helpful the examples shown below... but hurry, as time flies and it is only a few days to that special time. Cheers.

It may only happen to me, but once again it feels like Christmas has arrived faster than expected. And if like me you also have left your Christmas decorations to the last moment, you now have some catching up to do. However, resist the temptation to run to the nearest shopping centre in this final and crazy week, because the solution to our problem can easily be resolved at home, with fun. Surf the web instead and search for Do-It-Yourself Christmas Decorations.

There are so many clever and beautiful "how-to" out there that you won't find difficult at all to choose and quickly make your own decoration. Here a few I found myself, fun, effective and easy to make.

Instead of a chopped live tree, expensive and too soon thrown in the rubbish, get your books and magazines off the shelves:

For the mantelpiece's decorations, just a little of imagination and glue may do the trick:

These tree's decorations can easily be made at home:

Do you have left-over fabric, or felt and colourful buttons?

Candles in bunches bring instant warmth; keep them safe in drinking glasses:

And flickering lights quickly add joy and a festive mood:

There's many more ideas where these came from. Don't be afraid to give them a go, and for an elegant touch keep all your decorations in one colour and its shades. But remember that colour, sparkle and yummy treats are what takes to make this Season be the Festive one. Keep your DIY easy and where you can, make it an excuse to get the family together, because despite the consumerist pressure we may be under, Christmas is firstly about getting together with those we truly love.

Merry Christmas to all.
