Pink has been in our lives as a trend for a few years now, and despite not being the 'colour of the year' any longer, it's still fashionably in vogue, and a favourite with young women especially in its soft coloured variation called 'Millenial Pink'. Well, if you haven't already invited it into your interiors, I'd say do it now when is still readily available on the market in homewares and accessories. If however you fear being overwhelmed by it, or worry these pink shades won't work for the men in your life, there are a few tricks up my sleeves that may be of help.

SMALL DOSES - Any colour we decide to bring into our home can be overwhelming, not just pink; a lot of any one colour can unpleasant when added to your interiors, and it will also make you tired of it fast. So, to ease it in, and allow you to easily live with it, my first advice is 'Less is more": welcome your pink in small amounts as a décor accent piece, and on easily replaceable items, like feature cushions, vases, books, or lampshades...
PALATABLE SHADES - When used in styling and décor, no colour usually works its best when added in its brightest hue. Just as any song you truly love may not be so pleasant if played at full blast, similarly with colour, a muted version of your favourite one may be enough to suggest its presence without overwhelming the space. In fact the reason why the MiIllenial version of pink has been so successful is its toned down and organic energy, allowing it to work very differently compared to the more vibrant versions of pink.
BLEND IT IN - If you paint any of your favourite colours on the walls of your home, it can easily be too strong a dose, affecting the entire mood of the space and not in a good way. The soft approach here should be the way, instead of 'wham look at me!" blending it into your home by placing a little here and there, allows the pink-ness to be recurrent, like in the home where I took these photos: the pink is present, yet, the overall feeling here, is more industrial contemporary than being too girly, don't you think?
ON CONTRAST - After much work deciding on the interior finishes for this Eden Brae Home, I created a styling brief calling for a strong presence of charcoals, fresh whites and contrasting black; and to avoid the space becoming too masculine, the inclusion of a few splashes of Millennial pink proved very useful, adding interest and softening the space ...
