Whether I go for a walk around my home or travel to a different city, I can't help but look at houses, they may be small, or tall, luxurious or humble, but they all have a story to tell of who lives there, and of course, who designed them! I try to understand what makes the streetscape work, I take pictures and try to figure out what I like and what I don't - and why. House after house, I learn the possibilities.

Check out these pics I’ve just taken whilst walking the streets of Adelaide over the past few days! I was already familiar with these distinct stone facades, providing so much character they are truly unique to the ‘City of Churches’, and as is often the way, obviously a sign of the materials most available in the area.

Then I check out the details, the finishes, the materials. What often tickles your attention is probably what you'd like to add to your own home, or a job for a client ... or, once again, simply adding to your knowledge of architectural and decorative options, which for me, I store away for when it's needed!

I think it’s so important to look around, to search and discover new architectural possibilities and gain insights into new & old aesthetic trends ... for me it’s simple, as I love my job, every holiday, every trip, every walk is a continuous source of excitement.
